Meet the Founder of Echi Creations

Since I was a little girl, I’ve always dreamed of having my own stationery store. My love for art and paper goods began around the age of five, when I would spend hours drawing, painting, and crafting handmade cards and mini books to sell to my parents and neighbors. Every penny I earned went right back into buying more art supplies and stationery—my first real investment in a lifelong passion.

Born in Colombia and raised in the U.S. from the age of 13, my journey has taken many unexpected but meaningful turns. I learned English as my second language, graduated from the University of New Haven, and became a licensed Realtor in both Connecticut and New York. Since 2012, I’ve also had the unique privilege of working as the personal assistant to best-selling author and ESPN personality Mike Greenberg—better known as “Greeny.”

Alongside my career, I’ve spent many years focused on personal growth and community service, including active leadership in the global nonprofit Junior Chamber International (JCI). Still, no matter how full life got, my dream of starting a stationery business never faded. What began as a childhood hobby steadily grew into a calling—one that gained more encouragement and attention from my closest circle with every passing year.

With the incredible support of mentors, friends, and family, I finally took the leap and launched Echi Creations—a brand inspired by passion, purpose, and a desire to help others express themselves with color, creativity, and heart.

Why “Echi Creations”?

When I started working with Greeny, he began calling me “Echi,” a playful twist on my last name, Echavarria. It stuck! Friends, colleagues, and even clients picked it up, and before long, I started calling myself Echi too. It felt personal, fun, and uniquely me. So when it came time to name my business, “Echi Creations” was a natural fit. Today, it's not just a nickname—it’s a registered trademark and the name behind a dream turned reality.
